How successful is your whitetail season so far?

What state are you in? I hunt the Finger Lakes region of New York.

Well, I live in southern Ohio, and appears to be different from all other years. We have a season where we can use guns, we can only use shotguns, and muzzleloaders. on the first day of gun season here in Ohio (Monday), it sucked! the first day of gun season in Ohio is a Monday, and it's like Christmas to all hunters! i know everyone off work, and schools for the day! It was the worst day of first in many years! it rained all day! all got wet, and most of the deer was dwon bedding in thick material. I was lucky at one point in the day. the rain stopped for about ten minutes. and a deer came out in a field behind a fallen tree about 50 meters ahead of me. it was a little more in the open, and I criticized him. I turned in U and ran into the woods. I waited a minute or two and went to where I saw him run into the woods to see if there was some blood. had, so I decided to give a little more time for it to die. about 2 minutes then sat down, began to pour !!!!! all the blood washed away! so just wait it has not yet go far. I just follow up on the rose leaves, and about 30 yards into the woods was layin there dead. He hit me in the lungs. Then I went yesterday and I had not, but my brother has 2. I plan to go on a bit. I had left this morning, but here in southern Ohio, it was raining all morning! and good luck to you! Matt
