turkey hunting videos

Recently bought my first gun, a mossberg 535, never shot off a 3 1/2″ shell before, will it be difficult?

I’ve been watching some videos on youtube of guys shooting 3 1/2″ shells, and most of them act like panzies and they make such a big deal out of it.

I know how to properly hold a shotgun, and i know that i’m supposed to lean into it, so it shouldn’t be so bad right? I just think people make a big deal about it on youtube.

I’m asking because i plan on only using 3 1/2 inch shells in my gun and nothing less. When hunting i want to kill the animal, not wound it and have it run away, and if someone were to break into my house threatening me or a family member, i figure a 3 1/2″ shell would be better at laying his rear end on the ground then a smaller shell.

So simply put, is it practical to only use 3 1/2″ shells when hunting deer and turkey? I’m only 18 so i’m still learning.
didn’t plan on using 3.5 on anything besides a turkey or a deer, which is all i plan on hunting, don’t plan on hunting small game

I stay away from the 3.5′s unless hunting turkey or waterfowl.

Why burn all that powder to kill all those other small critters that shorter loads have killed for years?

Ever really shot at anyone? Thats what I thought…. those 3.5′s recoil makes it very hard recover and fire a follow up shot if needed.
