Do I need a hunting license?

Im 12 years old do I need a hunting license to hunt deer to turkey also is there a youth license to hunt in ?and how much do the tags cost?P.S. I live in south carolina.

Everything you need is in the South Carolina Hunting Regulations. You can get a copy at any gun shop, sport shop, or hardware store – anyplace that sells Hunting Licenses. You can also download them from the state official web site.

Generally speaking – hunters under 16 usually do not need a license and must be with a parent or guadian – some states will allow you to hunt with another hunter that is over 21. These laws change yearly – best to download the latest and no rely on what people say here.

Nearly all states require you to pass the Hunter Safety Course before you can hunt big game. You should try to take this class as soon as possible and do not wait until a few weeks before the season opens to take the class. The month before season opens the classes are usually booked solide – there is no room.
