The easiest solution to this question would have been to check the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Website since it has all the information you need concerning the game laws for Kentucky’s Fall turkey hunt.
Kentucky has turkey seasons in Fall and Spring. In the Fall the options are shotgun season (10/24-10/30 and 12/5-12/11 2009), Archery season (9/5/09-1/18/10), and Crossbow season (10/1-10/18 and 11/14-12/31 2009). Based on that information you would have to be using either a bow or crossbow to go turkey hunting in Kentucky now.
Additionally, it is illegal to use a .22 rifle to hunt turkey in Kentucky. Should you attempt to do so you may (and probably will) be arrested for poaching. If you want to use a firearm to hunt turkey in Kentucky, you must use a shotgun (either modern or muzzle-loading) between 10 and 20 gauge which can hold no more than 3 shots (2 in magazine and 1 in the chamber).
