10 Tips for successful tree stand hunting trophy whitetail deer

No other technique for deer bowhunting whitetail can improve their efforts to evade a deer incredible sense of sight, smell and hearing to hunt a tree stand. With all that equal, a tree stand and put out perform a good ground blind any day of the week. The following are 10 tips tree success standing that will help you take your trophy whitetail deer hunting to the next level:

Council Number 1 – Find the best location first, then do the work location

I've often said that the bow hunting deer is a game of inches, not feet or meters. An inch can sometimes make the difference between success and failure. Tip Number 7 – Make sure your tree stand is safe

In construction, an OSHA rule is you have to be tethered, if six or more feet above the ground. I recommend you follow this same rule when hunting from a tree stand. Make sure it is fastened with a safety harness system approved and hunting in a tree strong enough to support its weight. If you search from a permanent stand, make sure it inspected every year to see that the materials are not rotten or its connections with the tree still secure.

Tip No. 8 – Pre-determine your shooting distance

There are some good range finders on the market today. Some even measure their angle shot of the tree. Do not make the mistake of waiting until you are trophy deer then jump to the hearing to determine the correct decision yards. It's hard enough to get his bow ready, no messing around with that. If you have a rangefinder, use it finding location of various objects found in areas that will be filming locations. If not, then use a measuring tape to do the same when placing your booth. Use natural objects to mark these places rather than highly visible brand tape can frighten deer. Place a small trunk on the ground or push a stick on the ground to mark these places.
