Homeless Challenge

My financial problems began in mid-2003. I had left "Corporate America" to keep American Dream in 2001 to become an entrepreneur and be my own boss. I firmly believed that it had acquired the expertise to make this move and still do despite that things could not have been. My professional experience has been in medical sales for 22 years and so he ventured into the second medical team hand at the beginning and end worked on federal contracts / military on behalf of other small businesses in its market focus areas. The most difficult challenge was the first of two years to protect small businesses that wanted to expand into contracts with the government as partners since he had gained a great deal of knowledge in the bid to the sand.

In mid-2003 had built a large substantial credit card debt and the income just was not coming as a friend (a lawyer) advised me that it might want to consider Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing to pay off credit card debt without affecting my business. He introduced me in late 2003 and was granted Chapter 7 early January 2004. My $ 200K house went through foreclosure in mid-January but have not received an eviction notice that gave most of my furniture to my daughter and her husband and the house sat for 6 months with only a bed and television. The gas was eventually turned out and I spent two months of taking cold showers (whenever I see "The Game" with Michael Douglas I remember those days). Mid-June to end received notice that he needed to leave so I took her to live with my mother, who lived in a retirement village. She was happy that I moved in because she was going by some medical problems and because of my background might be helpful. It was a win-win for both parties (I will deal with this existence in another blog, which is another story to tell).

Needless to say, between losing the house and move in with my mom, I started having panic attacks, which were very devastating. In when I could still see my doctor and verify the panic attacks got me samples to treat the condition, but once I ran out of the samples started to hit the vodka with ice to cope. It became a challenge.

My Lincoln Towncar is repo'ed in August 2004 at 5:30 am. I heard screeching tires, but I thought it was just some high school kids trying to wake some of the residents in the retirement village until I left to run an errand and my car was gone. I called security in the villages to report stolen when I was told to call the city police and I was notified that he had been repo'ed.

Around August 2005 I received an eviction notice from the retirement village, not because I had done nothing wrong, but because my mother had signed a contract that would not let him live and care for her family (Of course, she has not read the fine print when she signed it). It is curious that it took two years to realize and act accordingly.

I was really homeless. I definitely did not want to go to the Mission City downtown so it was literally given to find a bridge to live under. It was moments of despair until a friend very good secondary invited me to come out to Northern California to live with it. Even paid for my flight. He found a job at a pheasant hunting evisceration chukkers club. You pay $ 1 more a bird tips and usually ran around $ 30-40 dollars a day on weekends.

After 6 months, my mother was not well medically and my son just graduated from the Border Patrol training, so I decided to come back and kill two birds with one stone. I came to see my son before his assignment to San Diego and find a way to help my mom. I ended up returning to live with her without anyone saying anything for another year of 2 (go figure).

I was evicted again in May 2008, but this time the security chief knew of a Salvation Army shelter (another blog) in Kansas City, MO and I was able to move there for about 3 months. The stipulation is we had to find a job that I had no problem with it, but at my age and become more skilled and many applications later that it was not an easy thing to do. Finally I got a call from the CEO of a Dennys doubted that, because of my training and age, but the chance and never regretted the rent as a dishwasher. He looked at me as another learning experience.

I finally started making money for the first time in a long time and was able to get a studio apartment and on my own again stop being a caregiver to my mom on a part-time. I living paycheck to paycheck with no social life, except for customers and employees at work. After two years of doing this, my mother passed away February and no longer have any links in Kansas City, my son asked me to move here to San Diego and help start a business that we had talked about many times.

So here I am, I got your complete business plan and are awaiting funding, but in the mean time I am unemployed and the market does not look so good. Just this week started a home business work and are optimistic that must be removed. The best, now I have the IRS coming after me for 2002 tax return again, I know I paid, but still froze my bank account.

I fought the last 6 years so if you think you can have only reflects badly on my challenge I just shared. Hope that helps somehow.

All I can say is keep the faith.

God bless and God speed
