elk hunting montana

When and where elk hunting in montana?

i just moved here and the main reason was good hunting but i need to know where some good elk hunting is and whens the best time to go

If you just moved to the state you might not gain residency before the season,so you better look into that right away. I assume you have a Hunter Ed card from someplace or can verify you have hunted before. Montana is a huge place, with elk in many areas,so it would help to know where you were based from. I hunt the Idaho Panhandle,and so I know the areas west of Missoula along and north of the I-90 corridor up to the Canadian border has plenty of elk,as does the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area.
