The Question of the Day?

Five friends with suitable names-Doe, Deer, Hare, Boar, and Roe, are coming back from a hunting party with five animals of the same names; each has killed one animal, not corresponding to his own name, and each has missed another differently named animal, again not corresponding to his own name.
·The deer was killed by the hunter who has the name of the animal killed by Roe.
·The doe was killed by the hunter who has the name of the animal missed by Hare.
·Deer, who missed a roe, was very disappointed to kill only a hare.
Who killed what?

Okay I am confounded. Doe didn’t miss or kill the doe. Deer killed the hare and missed the roe. Hare didn’t miss or kill the hare, Boar didn’t miss or kill the boar, and Roe didn’t miss or kill the roe.
“The doe was killed by the hunter who has the name of the animal missed by Hare” and since the doe wasn’t killed by Deer or by Doe, that leaves either Hare, Boar or Roe. Likewise the animal missed by Hare cannot be the hare or the roe, so it is either the doe, the deer or the boar. The only one in both lists is Boar, so Boar killed the doe and Hare missed the boar.
But then the third clue doesn’t work with the available answers because “the deer was killed by the hunter who has the name of the animal killed by Roe,” well Roe either killed the deer or the boar and the deer was killed by either Doe or Hare – no match.
I love logic puzzles – so please do tell what I am missing here.
