texting while hunting?

deer hunting season starts in like 6 days here in Maryland (rifle) . it will be the first year that I’m going to be going deer hunting. I’m wondering if it would be really stupid to try txting while hunting. would i like not see the deer or something. someone tell me what they think

Deer will not hear you texting. Keep the phone on silent or vibrate. Cover your hand movements by using a blind or heavy cover. If that is what it takes to keep you in the woods, then do it. The longer you sit, the better your chances are of tagging a good buck. Just be sure to scan the area at regular intervals.

I’ll get a lot of thumbs down for this, but I read on my stand all of the time. It keeps me occupied during the slow times. And guess what? I fill numerous tags every year. The important thing is staying on stand for as long as possible.
