Where should i set up a deer stand?

I am planning on bow hunting at Jim Edgar Panther Creek, in IL. I went scouting and found that there are very tall weeds and corn, and not many trees looking right for a tree stand along the edges of deer trails and fields. Anyone have any helpful comments?

You should be able to find a tree that is suitable, you should check to see if you can cut some lower limbs off of a tree so that you can get to a decent height. Keep scent control in mind. If there are no trees that are good then, the best thing you can do is sit on the ground in a blind. A natural blind can be a fallen tree that is just a little bit higher than some of the other land with some brush around it, like on a slope of a hill. Look for a worn trail that is used commonly. Stay downwind and good luck.
