where can I hunt rabbits in big bear, ca?

I am looking to plan a trip up to big bear, ca and I would like to be able to to a little rabbit hunting, without breaking any laws.

Jeff, I am a cop in Big Bear, CA of 14 years and you don’t want to do this. Don’t listen to anyone else on here who replies because they don’t know. It is illegal. Research into it the right way and you’ll see this is true. We had 14 calls in the past month from people reporting that they saw people hunting rabbits here, and we caught 5 of them last week. All 5 have to appear in court now and have charges against them. These are HUGE fines they are going to face now. This is a very back and forth issue where people will SWEAR they read it is legal but it is not.
