First Time Caribou Hunter? Take a look plz?
My dad and his best friend did a caribou hunt in northern quebec last year had a great time. They got 4 caribou. Between 45 in and 60 inch. Absoulutly beautiful.
in 2 years we are going again and this time he is bring me and his friends son. We are paying half which is around 2500 dollars and i still need a gun. What should i get. I have shot a 270. win, 30-06, and a 7mm rem mag. Those are the biggest guns i have shot. I love the 270. win, i thought it was increadible. I am 15 years old and i will be 17 when the hunt comes. I was thinking of a 270. win in either the model 70 sporter deluxe or the brownign a-bolt medallion.
What do you think of these rifles? What about the calibers? Any suggestions or any tips on anything?
I have hunted moose, deer, and coyote before. First time for caribou. And i used my dads gun last time
You have in fact already answered your own question: “I love the .270 win” Perfect choice for caribou. As for make of rifle, both you mention may be difficult to get as they are both discontinued models. But either is a great choice as are their successors.
